Morpeth Sourdough

From the original c.1851 bakehouse where William Arnott, the biscuit entrepeneur and his brother David, baked bread and ship’s biscuits in the 1860’s and now owned by Stephen and Allison Arnott, comes  Morpeth Sourdough. Products include spelt, gluten free, whole wheat, five seed, ciabatta, spicy fruit and walnut, and white tin loaves, not to mention the award winning muesli.

Morpeth Sourdough bread is real sourdough, it contains only flour, water and salt, undergoing a long fermentation of 28 hours. Other characteristics of Morpeth Sourdough are:

  • Naturally Low GI
  • Easy to digest
  • No baker’s yeast, soy, dairy or egg
  • No animal or vegetable fat
  • No preservatives, flavours or additives.

Bunna Bunoo Olive Grove

Bunna Bunoo is a family managed live grove located near the township of Vacy in the Paterson River valley. Bunna Bunoo’s olive grove was established in 1997 and now has around 3,500 trees. Five varieties of olives are grown. The oil varieties are Frantoio and Correggiola, and table olives come from Jumbo Kalamata, Kalamata and Manzillo trees.

With everlasting taking place between April and June, olives are processed, bottled, labelled and packed in a new purpose built facility at the grove. Olive oil is cold pressed locally and then returned to the grove for bottling and labeling.

Located near the township of Gresford, Tar10 produces an award winning range of gluten and preservative free condiments that sell around Australia and internationally. Look for tar10’s:

Fosterton Farm Bakery

Fosterton Farm Bakery was originally established in 2002 to service the Newcastle area and was based at the Honeysuckle Market. It is now based on a farm at Fosterton, a locality just outside Dungog, and fronting the beautiful Williams River. Look out for an assortment of:

  • Traditional, sesame, and linseed wholewheat loaves
  • Corn sourdough
  • Rye sourdough
  • Sourdough baguettes
  • Spelt cobs and loaves
  • Spicy fruit and nut loaf, and more.
